Personal advice for career, financial, and life decisions — Tampa, FL — and worldwide by video.
Who is this for?
You probably already know something needs to change. You just can't quite see what — or where to start. Sometimes the most useful thing isn't advice from family or a formal coaching program. It's an honest conversation with someone who has no stake in the outcome and knows how to ask the right questions.
People who reach out often describe it like this.
If any of these sound familiar, that's enough.
"Something feels off at work. I'm not sure if my job is at risk, but I know I need a plan."
"I know the next chapter of my life needs to look different — I just don't know where to start."
"I feel stuck, but I can't even explain why."
"I'm drowning in debt and I can't see a way out. I need a plan, not just encouragement."
How It Works
Every situation is different, so we start with a conversation about what's going on and what brought you to reaching out. I want to make sure my approach is the right fit for you — and that you're ready to do the work.
There's no standard program here. Some people need to step back and get clear on what actually matters to them — and whether their life reflects that. Others need a concrete financial plan so they can finally feel in control. We start where you are and build from there.
We meet every two weeks — in person if you're in Tampa, or by video from anywhere. Between sessions I'll occasionally suggest things to think through on your own. The goal is for you to own the process and arrive at your own answers. I'm just here to help you get there.
I work with a small number of people at any given time — some pay a fee we determine together, and occasionally I work with someone at no charge when the need is real and the fit is right. If you think this might be useful, reach out. We'll have an honest conversation about whether it makes sense.
Who I Am

I'm Steve Adams. For 26 years I've worked at PwC, one of the world's largest professional services firms — leading teams, working as an individual contributor, and everything in between. I've seen how people and organizations operate from just about every angle.
But my background goes wider than that. I've been a bartender. I've owned small businesses. I've seen both ends of money — the kind where you're counting every dollar, and the kind where you can finally breathe. That range of experience shapes how I approach problems.
What I enjoy most is helping people figure things out. That's always been true, whether I was behind a bar or in a boardroom.
Over the past few years — maybe it's my age, the beard, or just that I've made enough mistakes and figured enough things out to be genuinely useful — people started coming to me with their personal challenges. This is my way of doing that for more people.
My wife and I have been married for 25 years. Together we raised three daughters — she did the hard work, I mostly tried to keep up. That taught me more about listening, patience, and navigating complexity than anything else in my life.
I'm not a therapist. I'm just someone who's been around, paid attention, and has a habit of asking the right questions.
